Ann Cekus, 78, of Wilco Hill, Webster, died suddenly Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at 7:58 a.m. in the emergency room of Mon Valley Hospital. She was born Jan. 26, 1924, in Webster, a daughter of the late Mike and Anna Zofchak Polak. She was a lifelong resident of Webster and was a homemaker. She had worked for 10 years in the Monessen Public Library. She was Catholic by faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Mike and John Polak; and one sister, Mary Stangroom. Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Frank Cekus; two sons, Frank D. Cekus of Forward Township, and Gary Cekus of West Newton; two daughters, Barbara Marshall of Scenery Hill, and Diane Locklin of Rostraver Township; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Florence Cipa of Eldora; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the PAUL MACIK FUNERAL HOME, 546 Thompson Ave., Donora, where a blessing service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Edward S. Litavec officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Donora.
