John MONTAGU Obituary
Passed away at Essie Summers Retirement Village, on Thursday, May 5, 2022, aged 90 years. Beloved husband of the late Colleen. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Gae and Murray (deceased), Gary and Judy, Rick and Karen, Diane and Neil, and father-in-law to Jenny. Will be sadly missed by his much loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Much loved brother of Murray and Marjorie and the late Robert, and Douglas. Many thanks to the staff at Essie Summers for all their loving care of John. In lieu of flowers donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated and may be made online only at bit.ly/jemontagu0505 (memorial gifting website). A funeral service for John will be held at St Nicholas Anglican Church, Corner of Barrington and Frankleigh Streets, on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at 11.00am, followed by a private burial.

John was a true friend to Ray and Joan Duncan at Essie Summers, regularly visiting Ray in level 3 special care and also Joan in Rest Home. A kind and gentle man, who we have fond memories of on West Coast. Rest peacefully John. Sincere sympathy to the family.

John you were the loveliest man. I thought about you over the past 2 years since retiring from caregiving. I enjoyed your company, there was always a joke to be had and we had many laughs. Your family and friends will miss you, my sympathy. You were one of lifes gentlemen. Chris

I sat next to John at the dinner table for the last 3 or 4 years. Both of us being west coasters, we were able to chat about people we knew. John was such a nice man, great sense of humour and a real gentleman. I miss him already. My sincere sympathy to his family. Dawn Adams
