John Alexander (Jock):
Of the 19th Armoured Bn.
Peacefully on February 23, 2018, at Rose Court, Christchurch, in his 100th year. Dearly loved husband of the late Lesley, loved father and father-in-law of Jan and Errol Ballin, Catherine and Ernest Henshaw, Murray and Anne McPhail and Neil and Julie McPhail. Much loved grandfather of Sam, Caleb and Adam Ballin; Melinda, Blake and Leighton Henshaw; Brodie and Cameron McPhail; Rory and Krista McPhail and great-grandfather to William and Alexander Ballin, Mila, Neve, Lily and Willow Ballin, Sophia and Olivia Ballin, Fyoden and Abriel McPhail. Jock's family would like to thank the loving and caring staff at Rosecourt for their compassionate care of Jock. Special thanks to Jock's private carer Diane, who has been a rock. A service to celebrate Jock's life will be held in Cashmere Hills Presbyterian Church, 2 MacMillan Avenue, This Day (Friday), at 12.00pm. Private cremation thereafter.
