Very sorry to hear of John's passing. He gave a lot to the Kapiti community. His work in support of the environment, especially Queen Elizabeth Park is especially appreciated.

To the family, so sorry to hear of John's passing. I worked for him as a secretary from DSIR days through to AgResearch days. He was a wonderful man to work for - every person was equal in his eyes. He was so easy to talk to. I'm sure everyone who worked with him has amazing memories. He was the only person I knew who could write a research paper from scratch and have it published without changes, and usually he'd be writing it last minute as well! Such an intelligent man! Thinking of you all at this sad time.
