I first met Jock in 1965 when we both started at Daniels to begin our engineering apprenticeships. He was a real character and as well as a working colleague was also part of my social life. `Incidents´ were numerous, usually very amusing. There was a bit of an altercation, one Christmas Eve in 1974, at a nightclub in Bristol, where there was a bit of a skirmish on the dance floor. Guess who was in the middle of it. Jock was a wonderful character who we shall never forget.

Sorry to read the news of Johns passing. I enjoyed the small chats, his wisdom during my visits with my role at HCNZ. Jacqui was an amazing support and advocate for John. Thinking of you all.

Jock, you were the most loving caring father anyone could ever hope for. You will be missed by everyone who you so generously gave your time to. And thank you for every lesson you gave me in life including the sense of humour.

Jocular John would rock up for the PD group walk in his orange car with vibrant music playing and then offer at least one joke on the walk. It was tough seeing him battle through multiple health challenges - he didn't give up easily! We have been missing him already.
