John INDER Obituary

(M.N.Z.M)
5 April 1935 – 6 February 2026

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, in his 91st year. Much loved husband of the late Gabrielle, father to Catherine, Michael, Richard, Rachel and companion to Puddy. John lived a life of service and care for others. A gentleman, always kind and generous with his time for others. He loved adventure - whether on the tennis court, cycling, sailing or spending time in the mountains. He was a much-loved father, father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather, cherished by his children, and a valued friend to many.

Forever loved and will be sadly missed.

Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Ashwood Park and Hospice Marlborough, and a very special thank you to Gina. Wonderful memories of tramping in the Nelson Lakes region, and many other times with the wider Inder whanau. John saw so much change in his lifetime, and there was often a twinkle of discovery in his eye. He was immensely proud of his family and his late partner Gabrielle. RIP John, you´ve had a brilliant run. Love to all from the Shannon-Saunders family & thinking of you all xx

It was a pleasure to meet John and Gabrielle at the "Inder 150th" in Naseby in 2012. They made us feel so welcome, as an extended branch of the Inder family. Condolences to the family from John (deceased) and Joye Inder, Robert (deceased) and Adrienne Inder, and Ken and Karyn Inder
