Wish I could have attended but weather intervened today.
John was a guiding light, an encouraging hand and a mentor and friend in my time at Nelson Bays Primary Health.
He shared his love of his family, his connections to others and his love of the Marahau Bach. Sending all his family my sincere condolences for the loss of a gentle giant who had an amazing sense of humour. Thank you for sharing him.

John was an inspiration to me in so many ways. It was an honour and privilege to work for him at Nelson Bays Primary Health. He was a fantastic Chair, mentor
and friend. Always fair, kind and gracious. He will always be remembered... Thoughts and prayers are with his family at this sad time.

It was my pleasure and honour to serve on the Nelson bays PHO board with John for eight years. He was respected and loved as a empathetic, kind, funny, gracious and compassionate man and Board Chair. I am so very sorry he didn´t live longer as I know his whanau meant the absolute world to him and he treasured every moment with them. My heartfelt condolences go out to Ngaire and your whanau.

I will always remember John with fondness and I am ever thankful for his kindness and to have learnt from him.
Kia kaha Hunter whanau.

Dear Ngaire and Family,
I was saddened to hear of John's death. John leadership as chairman of the NBPH was skilled, where he gave the team encouragement to be innovative in addressing health.
His friendship and contribution to life will be missed
us all.
