John Charles (Jack):
Peacefully on July 9, 2019, 4 weeks short of his 98th birthday. Treasured husband of Val. Beloved and loving father and grandfather of Ros and Russell Stringfellow, John and Sandy, Jann and Rob Smith, Emily, Will and Alex. Sadly missed by all who knew him. Private funeral held at John's request. Messages to WesleyCare, 91 Harewood Road, Papanui, Christchurch.

Jack the last of the great guys that were serving the New Brighton Surf Life Saving Club in the middle of last century when our group joined the club. They were great mentors to us young guys and we owe them much for the grounding they gave us going forward into our own lives. Go well Jack - Robin Foubister
