John was my Stock Agent for many years. Although I am only a small time farmer John took the time to make my business his business. He was always true to his word and could be relied on to keep the deal made. No doubt this was an integral part of how Rural Livestock Limited grew from its small beginnings to what it is today! While death has its sting great comfort can be taken from a portion of scripture which bears John's name, John 3:16.

John was always my big cousin even though we were born a month apart. Most holidays we visited the Honeybone clans in Cheviot and had good times together. I looked up to him as a man of the world, outgoing, friendly, a good businessman with heaps of contacts, a strong laugh and part of a great family. RIP John.

I knew John many years ago and in my humble opinion he was a good bloke, who would rather do you a good turn than a bad one. Sadly people like him are becoming few and far between in the world of today. My sympathy to his family.
