Passed away peacefully in Christchurch. Beloved husband to Janice Lee of 63 years. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Anthony and Jo, Sandra and Hoterene, Jason and Lydia, and the late Martyn. Treasured Grandad of James, Sarah, Luke, Maxine, and the late Zirconia, and a cherished Great-Grandad.

Such a kind and welcoming presence at the Bottle Lake golf club. Always had a smile and showed an interest in your game long after he had stopped playing. Seeing John and Jan doing the gardens on the course while bringing along their sandwiches and flask was a regular sight for me and many others. He was an absolute legend and I will miss his warmth and humour.

On Monday, September 15, 2025, passed away peacefully at Alpine View Care Centre. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Barbara and Graeme Wyeth, and the late Pauline and Robin Standage.
