Thoughts and condolences to the Harris Family.
What an absolute treasure John was. A wealth of knowledge and never short of a quirky comment. The experiences you gave my boys and plenty of others with your "no so pc" boys club far exceeds "normal" life skills. You will be missed so very much on the rugby and cricket sidelines. Fly free. All our love Jodie, Ricki-Lee, Jesse, Jack and Adam.

John we will miss our time with you tracing back Harris family ancestors back into history. Never did get the current generation´s sorted. At least your will now have the answers to the 1 or 2 unanswered questions we still had. You were so clever researching when Computers & Ancestry were not available. I am sure Brendan will carry on the research with us. Been an honour to know you, safe travels.

The Committee of the Rangiora and Districts Early Records Society were sorry to hear of John´s passing. He was a long-standing member of our Society and a marvellous source of knowledge about Woodend, Tuahiwi and the surrounding areas. On behalf of the members we would like to offer our deepest sympathy to his family.

Condolences to John's family. John was a big part of our son's young years through Boys Club. We also always enjoyed his pieces in the Woodpecker over the years. A big personality who will be missed in the district.
