We have only recently heard of John's sudden passing. We have fond memories of years gone by,especially with his involvement with Orion. We send our condolences to you Olive and would love to reconnect at some stage.
Best wishes

So sorry to hear of John`s passing. He was a great neighbour to our father and mother. I know Mum and Dad appreciated having him nextdoor and particularly enjoyed sharing in his enthusiasm for travel and war history. Our thoughts are with you Olive.

Someone who travelled internationally working with local governments once described John Gray as "the best city manager in the world." I was not disappointed when I met him.
He was a great listener and displayed a quick and incisive mind, not to mention a mischievous wit that lurked beneath the surface. He had a knack for bringing the best out of others. He is sorely missed.

A respected Schoolmate from 1945. He served his city and his country well. He will be missed by the survivors of our class at our next reunion, RIP.

A great friend of our fathers, the late Major Hugh MacDonald (RCR) of Ailsa Craig, Ontario Canada.
They served together and we grew up hearing the many great stories of their military accomplishments together.
Our thoughts are with you.

We are so sorry to hear that John has passed. He was a great man, and a great friend to our family, both here in NZ and in Canada. From all of the Rossiters and MacDonalds, our deepest sympathy to Olive and the Gray family.
