John GENET Obituary

GENET, John Douglas:
On March 6, 2021, passed away peacefully at Bainswood on Victoria in Rangiora, aged 78 years. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Lyn, much loved father and father-in-law of Shane and Millie, Brendan and Lisa, Michelle and Craig. Treasured granddad of Liam, Ben, Stevie Lee, Jorja, Taig, and Jaia (UK), great-grandfather of Blake, and Bella. Many thanks to The Nurse Maude Association and Bainswood on Victoria for their exceptional care of John. Messages may be addressed to The Family of the late John Genet, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. In lieu of flowers, donations to Nurse Maude Association in memory of John would be appreciated and may be made online at nursemaude.org.nz. In accordance with John's wishes, a private service has been held.

I am sad to have lost a friend. Lyn, John was a really brave strong soul and I am proud to have known him for all these 60 odd years. You have a wonderful family and real good friends that will be there for you as long as you need them. John had struggles that other people wouldn't have been able to deal with. But now there is no more pain for him and his love for you will always stay with you along with all the wonderful memories. I will always be around whenever you need to talk or cry or just to share a hug. I will miss seeing him when I come to your house and the little chats we had. It was a wonderful service and all your family will remember it for all time. Lyn I am always here for whenever or whatever you need, we have shared some similar challenges in our lives and I am sure there will probably be a few more but we will have some laughs and chats in the days and months to come maybe even some tears. But that's what old friends are for and that will go on for us for the rest of our lives, Love to you all, Lorraine (Cairns)xxxoooxxx
