Passed away on September 23, 2017. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Catherine, loved and respected father of William, Emma, and Penny. Loved son of the late Keith and Myra, and loved son-in-law of Diana and Brian Petrie, and the late David Bell. Respected and loved friend of Louise, Dougald, and Sam. The Funeral Service for John will be held in St RaphaelCatholic Church, O'Carrolls Road, Hawarden, on Friday, September 29, at 11.00am, followed by a private Interment.

Sincere condolences to all the Costello family, especially our dear friend Cath.
Cath and i met in 1973 when we started nursing in Dunedin and have always kept in touch.
Over the years we have had many enjoyable get-togethers with John and know how much he will be missed.
You use 3 expressions in the funeral notice that describe him well-- dearly loved,best friend and respected.
