In 1968 I booked the CBHS mountain hut for a prolonged party. From school came Liam, right in photo and Alastair Dumbleton, top. Below Alastair is the face of Tay Urlwin and Huntly Cutten in the school scarf. I am to the left of the white jersey. My condolences to Liam's sister Katherine who once played on a rewcord I produced.

Heartfelt condolences go out to Judith and all her family at the sad loss of Liam.
He was the kindest and most caring man. A wonderful husband, father, grandfather and awesome father-in-law of Christopher.
Today and always may loving memories of Liam bring peace, comfort and strength.
The Claydon family.

Liam was a good mate at CBHS & together we got into a bit of trouble from time to time. Lost touch at our respective universities. I didn´t realise he had moved to Auckland where I live. RIP my old mate.

I have had very little contact with Liam since we were at CBHS together.
I lived away from Christchurch for about 50 years but remember Liam well.
Regular school reunion is coming up so I ensure we have a drink to an absent friend. RIP Liam

To Judith and family
I´m so sorry to hear the news about Liam. He was a good boss and enjoyed working with him and that dry sense of humour.
Recently we had a catch up Mary, Carl, Sarah and I, where we were remembering the old days of when we were all at Cashmere. Thinking of you all at this time.

We were so sad to read of Liam´s passing in the Press. Definitely gone too soon. We moved to Christchurch to live after years in Methven. We needed a new dentist. Both my husband and I went to Liam. He was such a lovely man, so warm and genuine. I´ll never forget a couple of times I went, for what turned out to be minor repairs to a tooth. Liam didn´t even charge me. I couldn´t believe it! That has never happened before. He was so kind. He had photos of his grandchildren at work. We will never forget him.
We were sad when he retired but he deserved a life away from work. He had certainly earned it. Thinking of all the Walshe whanau. We know you´ll miss him dearly. He was a wonderful man. Our love and best wishes Pip and Joe Satherley.
PS- had there been an address I would definitely have written a card expressing our thoughts
