John BARTON Obituary
Of Wanaka, formerly of Christchurch. It is with immense sadness that we announce John's sudden but peaceful passing at Dunstan Hospital on Thursday, July 13, 2017. Cherished husband of the late Elaine, adored and respected father and father-in-law of Wendy and Russell (Tauranga), Mike and Leanne (Wanaka), much loved Poppa of Michael and Vanessa, David and Lisa; Ollie and Katie, Brittany, Jonty and Kelly, and loved Great-Poppa of Madison, Harper and Brooklyn. A service for John will be held at Peak Functions, corner Upton and McDougall Streets, Wanaka, on Thursday, July 20, at 2.00pm. In lieu of flowers a donation to St John New Zealand may be left at the service. Messages to The Barton Family, 44 Upton Street, Wanaka 9305.

To Mike and Leanne and other members of the family our sincere condolences at this time. Helen and I knew John and Elaine through their involvement with the Canterbury Rhododendron Society. They were both on the Committee with us back in the 80s and John was our Treasurer for a period during a time when I was secretary. It was a great social organisation and we all had a lot of fun at meetings or on the many garden trips that we organised.
