On January 5, 2025, at Christchurch Hospital, aged 93 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Patricia, much loved and respected father of Kay, Deb, Rob, and Scott. Proud grandfather of Bridget, George, Jane, Jack (deceased), Alex, Jessica, and Vincent, and great-grandfather of Gus, Poppy, Charlie, Stella, Annie, Zac, and Ilaria. Messages may be addressed to: The family of the late John Ballantyne, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. Respecting John's wishes, a private family funeral will be held.

John you were such a kind and caring man. I will miss you and our catch up chats on a Wednesday, you were always interested in my family especially my son Hayden. I´m so glad I got to see you the day you passed away to say good.

Thinking of you with the recent loss of your much loved father father-in-law grandad and great grandad. To me and my family John was a much loved friend to us over many years and to our family and especially my parents. We had many wonderful times at Gawler Downs and holidays in wanaka. John was a gentleman and his loss will be felt my many . Our thoughts of loss are shared with you all. XO .
