Johanna McKENDRY Obituary

Passed away peacefully at Ngaio Marsh, on Friday, July 26, 2024, with Bruce at her side, aged 69 years. Deeply loved wife and very best friend of Bruce, much loved mother and mother-in-law of Shaun and Sandra (Melbourne), Kirstein and Luke (Auckland), adored Oma of Indigo and Ocean, cherished sister, sister-in-law, aunty, cousin and friend.

After a long and courageous 21 year battle with Cancer our beloved Johanna is finally at rest.

Heartfelt thanks to all of those who cared for Johanna on her journey, especially Dr Peter Sykes and all the team at Christchurch Women's Hospital, Dr Michelle Vaughan and all the team at Christchurch Hospital Oncology, Dr Calder Botting and then Dr Paula Hanley and team at the Papanui Medical Centre and finally all the staff at Ngaio Marsh, who cared for Johanna so well in her final days. A celebration of Johanna's life will be held in our Westpark Chapel 467 Wairakei Road, Burnside, on Thursday, August 1, at 10.00am. Private cremation to follow.
