Joanne DURRANT Obituary

I well remember Jo as Minister at St Mark's Church, Somerfield St. Jo was a loved and respected member of our South Christchurch Ecumenical Group.

I well remember Jo at St. Saviour's youth group- some 45 years ago and she made the best ever Macaroni Cheese! Years later Justine met Jo thought the Church's Education Commission when Jo became a state School Chaplain at Cashmere high. We met again at St. Stephens, Yaldhurst Road and had the privilege of meeting some of her whanau.
A straight talking, down to earth, caring person with a big heart. Rest in Peace.

So sorry to hear about the death of Joanne. I remember Jo and family from our time at St Faith's New Brighton, Christchurch. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. May God be with you all.

Many happy memories of you and Joy here in Christchurch. You were my neighbour for many years and I spent many times in your place with the children you cared for over many years.I lost count for the number of disadvantaged young folks you cared for. Well done good and faithful servant.

It is with great sadness that I read of your death notice in the paper today. You loveinly supported many children over the years and would have left loving memories for them to cherish. I'm grateful for the happy years we spent together looking after and loving many children through the years. I have many photos to treasure of us with the children and I remember when you always use to growl because I always had the camera out talking photos you use to say I was camera happy' and I will remember you that way. My thoughts are with the family at this sad time.

Very sad to hear the news today of Jo's death. I remember all the good times when working for her as a support person over a 10 year period but a friendship came out of it and the love of the children in your care. Sadly lost contact when she moved up north. My thoughts are with you all on this sad time.
