Allen and I want to send our deepest condolences and thoughts to all of you.
Your mum was the most loving and caring person. I remember meeting her for the first time with our wee son Michael and Our daughter Amanda. She made the kids feel so important and couldn't do enough for them. Michael in his teenage years played soccer in Napier and without us went to visit her and your dad. He loved being there she invited michael and some of the other players to visit and made them all lunch. That's the person she was, a comforter, a friend and a great aunt.
Thank you auntie Joan for your love and encouragement throughout the years. You will be missed
Much love

Condolences to the family. I was a nurse at Napier hospital with Joan. She was an amazingly funny, caring woman and a very special nurse. I can still visualise all the faces that she used to pull which made people laugh.
Rest peacefully Joan.
