I found this lovely photo of Joan who was a member of the harmonica group The Stavemasters during the 1960's. It was taken at the Waimate Gardens when they attended the National Harmonica Championships and were very successful. Members from the left are my father; Ray Killick, Bob Stafford, Trevor Ellis, Graeme Watson, Joan Mills and Allan Andrews. Joans father was my very first piano accordion teacher at Milton Street Christchurch in 1963. I last saw Joan at my Dad's memorial in October 2003. Joan was such a lovely lady and my family knew Warwick as well. Rest in Peace Joan. Gail Torr (nee Killick) Feilding.

To the Buxton Whanau
Thoughts and prayers are with you all, following the sad loss of Joan Elizabeth Buxton. Along with Warwick, she was a great source of encouragement to me and many others during my time in the South Brighton area (including the Union Church) in the early 1990s. They both extended their wonderful hospitality to me and many others. People I am truly blessed to have known.
May God bless. comfort and be with you all
Graham Jarvie.

Our condolences to the family of Joan. Joan, Warwick and the Buxton family were the life blood of the South Brighton Methodist community; we enjoyed wonderful fellowship and camps at Arthurs Pass and Mt Cook. Joan was a delightful and caring woman, especially to my mother Merlyn. Rest in Peace Joan.
