Jennie RIACH Obituary

21.5.1939 – 18.9.2025

Passed away peacefully at Bainswood Rest Home in Rangiora, aged 86 years. Dearly loved wife of the late Desmond Douglas Riach, and elder sister to John, and Sally. Cherished mother of Ian, Hamish, and Andrew, and mother-in-law to Deb, Jane, and Lucille. Adored Granny to Claire and Josh, Alice and Nasi, James, Amy, and Callum; and Great-Granny to Nadia, Sione, and Zoe. Loved by her wider family and all who knew her. Jennie dedicated her life to family and horticulture, and was a life member of the New Zealand Alpine Society. She was also an active member of the Canterbury Horticultural Society and enjoyed lifelong learning through U3A. Practical and very hardworking, Jennie was a keen gardener who supported her family, often spoiling the grandchildren with too many chocolate biscuits. A loving mother who will be deeply missed. Our heartfelt thanks to the kind and considerate staff at Bainswood Rest Home in Rangiora for their unwavering love, support, and care. Jennie had a great sense of humour, and her life's motto was 'Pobody's Nerfect'.
