Janice McLEAN Obituary

Passed away peacefully at Christchurch Hospital on January 30, 2026. Much loved wife of John for 64 years, Loved mum of David and Jules, Linda and Peter. Loved nana of Mitchell, Jack, Cullan and Eva. Loved sister of Neville Gale (dec) and Graeme Gale (dec). Janice will be greatly missed by family and friends. The family wish to thank the team at Christchurch Hospital for their amazing care of Janice.
In accordance with Janice's wishes, a private burial will take place. A celebration of Janice's life will be held at 17 Assisi Street, Mt Pleasant, on Wednesday, February 4, at 2.00pm. Cards and messages to: The Family of Janice McLean, PO Box 263, Kaiapoi 7644.

I will miss you my wonderful friend. We went to primary school together , went to Avonside high school together and worked together in the lawyers office. If we ever need to talk or cry about something who ever to call. We had so much in common. You were a true friend my best friend, I will miss you so much. Love you forever. Judith Anne.

I met Jan at high School yrs ago!
and have been friends ever since.
Jan was a Bridesmaid at our wedding in 1961.

Janice had a warmth you always felt when greeting with a long cuddle of affection. Janice was always interested in how our family was doing and others interests first. Weve had lovely times and visits, long lunches and laughter. Lovely memories, with love, Lyn and Graeme, Abby and Pippa xx
Our relationship with the McLean family is one of historical- my parents were friends and grwat neighbours of Johns parents and our love and respect has frown out of that close friendship.
