We are so sorry to hear of Jan's passing. She has been a wonderful friend to us all these years. We loved receiving her beautifully written letters. She will be missed.

You will be sadly missed by us all but Saturday morning coffee will not be the same! Lots of love Val, Karen and Stevie, Chris and Lily.

I can't believe you won't be there when I next visit from England. You were such a wonderful friend for over 35 years. We had so much in common we were almost like twins. You were kind, full of empathy , loved your family so much and were loved by all who knew you. We had many laughs with our nurses' sense of humour. Goodbye dear friend. I am very sorry to hear this sad news. Jan and I were great penfriends and I am from Berlin - we have kept in touch for many years and we have visited New Zealand twice and met up with her. My sympathy to her family and friends.

We have just received this sad news. Jan was our bridesmaid 57 years ago on 16 May 1959. We were school friends at New Plymoth Girls' High School and have kept in touch over the years. Our sympathy and love to the family and friends who were lucky enough to see more of her than we have since she moved to the South Island.

Saying goodbye to such a loving, vibrant person is always hard. I will remember her as a warrior, who journeyed through the ups and downs of life growing stronger through the tough times and celebrating the wonderful times with joy.
