Fond memories of a delightful lady who certainly earned my respect and admiration as my language teacher at AGHS. She was firm but kind, and always gave praise and mutual respect where it was due. I will most remember her for her quirky humour and definitely that naughty twinkle in her eyes!

Five years of Japanese in the mid/late 70s at AGHS. I always smiled at being taught by someone with a Scottish accent. I believe our year group was the first to start Japanese at third form level (before that it had been for senior girls only) and I believe Miss Moir was largely responsible for that innovation> She also encouraged us to enter the inter-school competitions. Miss Moir could be strict, and we were expected to work, but there was often a twinkle in her eye and she had a delightful laugh. Fond memories.

Miss Moir was one of my favourite and most memorable teachers who taught me japanese with great patience for 5 years from 1980 -1984. We will always remember her.

Fond memories of a very special teacher who nurtured my love of languages. An inspiration to many past pupils of AGHS. Sincere condolences to Miss Moir's family and friends.

One of the finest teachers and influential women in my life. Miss Moir showed us the importance of friendship and respect for others, especially across cultures. She treated us like young ladies, in spite of our sometimes unruly behaviour, and showed us we could live life on our own terms.
