Jane CLARK Obituary

Passed away at the Ashley Suites, Russley Village, Christchurch, on Friday, January 10, 2025, aged 92 years, in the arms of Fiona. Beloved wife of the late Professor Alan Clarke CMG. Dearly loved mother of Richard, John, Alastair (deceased), and Fiona. Loved sister and sister-in-law of Donald (deceased) and Anne, Ross (deceased) and Janet, Catherine (deceased), David and Jan Malloch. Loved aunt to Andrew, Kirsty, and Lachlan Malloch. Will be sadly missed by the extended family and many friends. Many thanks to the staff at Russley Village for all their loving care of Jane. Messages to the family of Jane Clarke, c/- PO Box 26051, North Avon, Christchurch 8148. A Funeral service for Jane will be held at the John Rhind Chapel, entry from London and Whitmore Streets, Christchurch, on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 1.00pm, followed by a private cremation.

DEAR FIONA AND JOHN, WHOM I MET WHILE VISITING THEIR DEAR MUM AT THE ASHLEY SUITES. I WAS VERY FOND OF JANE AND KNOWING HER PARENTS LIVED IN WAIKOUAITI I FORMED A BOND WITH HER.
A LOVELY WOMAN, SO HAPPY AND BRIGHT WHEN I KNEW HER IN HER LAST FEW YEARS.

I do send my most sincere sympathy to you all, and have had so many memories to think about since reading of Jane´s death last week.
As I planned to attend the service I did not write then but hoped to see you there. However I was unable to do so and have thought of all our school years, time at Elmswood , and visits to Bishop Selwyn and Russley where Jane and I caught up on lots of memories!
You are all in my thoughts and prayers and I do send my sympathy and love,

Jane, I have warm memories of time with you, even if brief and well separated. You are a glass half full l person, always saw the positive. A fabulous Aunty. Generous and gracious hospitality always on offer. You made time for others. I always remember you introduced me to muesli on a holiday at Karitane as a young teenager, and has been my breakfast ever since. As a youngster and in later years it was always a highlight to see you and Alan and the family. God Bless Mark
