James Cameron (Jim):
Passed away peacefully at Christchurch Public Hospita,l with loving family by his side, on April 12, 2023, aged 84. Dearly loved husband and best friend of Bev, deeply loved dad and father-in-law of Donna and James Gillman, Shane and Kim, and Lindie, devoted grandad of Tamarah and Jared, and Arthur, loved son of the late Bonnie and Jim, loved brother and brother-in-law of Noel and the late Jill, the late Norm and Lynette, and Ronnie, loved son-in-law of the late Alice and Arthur Gray, loved brother-in-law of Shirley and the late Barney Fahey, and Janice and Michael Coleman, a loved uncle, cousin, and a friend of many. A Funeral Service to celebrate Jim's life will be held in the William Sampson Memorial Chapel, Tainui Street, Greymouth, on Monday at 1.00pm, followed by cremation on the Coast at the Westland Crematorium.

Saddened to hear this news today. Jim was the Principal when I began teaching at South Hornby School in 1994 until he retired. I saw him as recently as last year at a school event. I have many fond memories of Jim. He was such a kind man, with a quick sense of humour, a twinkle in his eye, always loved a chat and he often had a pocket full of wrapped lollies. He was a true gentleman. Rest in peace Jim. Sympathies to Bev and family at this sad time.

It was my privilege to begin my teaching career at South Hornby School, where Jim was the principal. Such a lovely man. Kind, empathetic and with a twinkle in his eyes. My condolences to Bev and family.
