James NIEMAN Obituary

Passed peacefully at his home in Diamond Harbour, after a brief illness, on July 4, 2023, aged 79 years. Much loved husband of Philippa (Drayton) and the late Cecille (Aires). Loved father of Paul, Rachel, and Mark, and proud Grandad of Shara-Lea, Jessie, Samantha, and Bianca; Becky, Danielle, Michael, Oliver, and Karimoana; and Colby. Great-grandfather of Chevy-Tate, Eva, Kilby, Falcon, and Wisdom. A much loved brother of Karin, and a loved brother-in-law, uncle, and cousin to many. Thanks to locals who have provided support, Lyttelton Pharmacy, and in particular, the Diamond Harbour Medical Centre staff. Messages may be addressed to The Family of the late Jim Nieman, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Diamond Harbour and Districts Community Medical Centre Expansion would be appreciated and may be made directly online at givealittle.co.nz/cause/our-community-providing-a-foundation. A Funeral Service for Jim will be held at St Andrews Community Church, 85 Marine Drive, Diamond Harbour, on Friday, July 7, at 2.00pm, private cremation thereafter.

A wonderful man who was our neighbour back in the 70's my children went to school with Jim and Cecille's. Spoke to him about 6 yrs ago but unfortunatley never got to catch up, My sincere sympathy and condolences to all the family, Fay Hodge (Parry)
