James Peter (Jim):
On January 22, 2018, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Aged 63 years. Much loved husband of Marie McDonald. Much loved father to his children, James and Imogen, Paul and Sacha, Patrick and Alana, Catherine and Willy, Mary and Andy, Gerard and Shelley, Bernadette and Simon, Rebekah, Rachel and Tyler, Loretta and Regan and a beloved Grandad to his grandchildren. Loved son of the late Margaret and Jim McDonald and loved son-in-law of the late Gladys and Morris Bradford. Much loved brother and brother-in-law of Joe and Yvonne, Norah and Mitchell, Margaret and Brian, Peter and Laraine, Tim, Teresa and Gary, Tom and Claire, and a loved uncle to his nieces and nephews.
He will be deeply missed. May he Rest in Peace.
Messages to the McDonald family C/- 19 London Street, Christchurch, 8013. A Requiem Mass for Jim will be celebrated at St Annes Catholic Church, 739 Ferry Road, Woolston, This Day (Thursday), at 11.00am, followed by burial at the Ruru Lawn Cemetery, Ruru Road.

Very sad for you all, to hear about the loss of Jim, a pillar of a man. Whilst in my younger years I was more involved with rubbing the odd shoulder against Pete's and Tim's (more my age) I still remember Jim's strong presence when I was a kid, back in the 70's and 80s.
Very sorry for your loss from us Christchurch Kirwan Clan kids (Deardre, Helen (RIP), Alan, Juliana and John (me).
