James Anthony "Jim" BARNES

James BARNES Obituary

From Ladbrooks/Lincoln. Passed away peacefully, aged 83, on October 14, 2024, at Lady Wigram Hospital. Jim was a dedicated life member of the Lincoln volunteer Fire Brigade. Jim is survived by his loving wife Gail, his children Ian and Donna, Graeme and Rachael, David and Sarah, his grandchildren and great-granddaughter, stepchildren Judy-Ann and Mike, Kirsten and Tony, Ross and Danielle, Wayne and Ange, and step-grandchildren. Jim survived his first wife Merle; daughter June, son Steven and granddaughter Jen. In accordance with Jim's wishes a cremation has been held and a celebration of his life will be held at a later time TBA.

I left Lincoln in September 1971 for a career in the NZ Police but for the year prior worked for Habgoods and have fond memories of working with Big Jim on hay and grain carting along with on the Fire Brigade. Rest easy big fella. RIP
