Jacques TAIT Obituary

TAIT,
Jacques William (Jack):
On February 18, 2022, aged 93 years, peacefully in Auckland. Born in Kaiapoi on July 8, 1928, son of the late Edna Alice and John Alfrey (Jack), brother of Keith (Sydney). Jack (BSC, BCA, CA, CMA, ACIS) was head boy at Timaru Boys' High School in 1946. Beloved husband of the late Nola, and much loved husband and best friend for over 55 years of Jenny Tait. Wonderful father of Peta, Julia, Lyall, William, Emma and father-in-law of Annie and Andrew. Fun loving and wise Grandad of Oliver, Thomas, Jack, Sophie and Georgia. Great grandad of Henry. Close friend of his late brother-in-law Cliff Dalziel. Brother-in-law of Michael and Bill.
"A good man at rest"
Jack was generous, kind and friendly, with a big heart and smile. Still a business man in his 80s. Loved, admired and respected by all that were fortunate enough to cross his path. In lieu of flowers, donations to Dementia Auckland (www.da.org.nz) would be appreciated. Thanks to the staff at Bruce McLaren for their care in recent months. Any messages to Jenny and the family may be sent to 3 McCahill Views, Highland Park, Botany, Auckland 2010. The family will be holding a private celebration of Jack's life, followed by private cremation.

Jack was a wonderful man - intelligent, warm, humorous and kind. I am so grateful to have known him.

The first time I meet Jack was when they shifted from Wellington to Auckland and became our new neighbors. Jack asked for my help as the truck had arrived and the refrigeration had NOT been switched on on their huge full of food, freezer! Oh yeah that was a fun afternoon and an introduction to a great friendship. Jenny was pretty pleased we meet a few days later. Go forward with courage, Look back with pride, a great man has gone but will not be forgotten.
