Ivy SOLOMON Obituary

8.12.1942 - 28.5.2025
(82 years young)

Ivy Solomon passed away peacefully at Christchurch Hospital on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, after fighting a heroic 2 year battle with lung cancer. So grateful to all the medical people who had such a huge impact on her life, from her GP to the Oncology Team, to the Ambulance people, to the Doctors and especially the Nurses at Christchurch Hospital, you are all awesome. Ivy was the much loved partner of Charlie Betts, and an amazing Mum to Cairo and Steve and Makere/Cheryl (deceased March 2025), and Grant, and much loved Nana to Terilee and Rob, Reuben, Tyson and Zoe, Jaymin and Joni, Kelsey and Gilbert, Izzy and Jaydon, much loved Great-Nana to Logan, Solomon, Charlie and Theo. We are so thankful she is in a better heavenly place with no more suffering and now at rest. The celebration of her life and her farewell will be on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at 1.00pm at the C3 Urban Oasis Church (was the old Shirley St Albans Working Mens Club) at 269 Hills Road, Shirley, Christchurch.

Ivy Solomon and myself had known each other since 1959.
We met through our Husband's who were in the Army together.
My Husband and myself used to babysit fir Ivy and Jack after they had their first .baby Cheryl
That means we would have known them both for over 60 year!!

Ivy had been a member of our group for over 20 years. She was a lovely bright, cheerful person, a keen genealogist, always ready for a chat.
