Iris BISHOP Obituary

On September 30, 2024, peacefully with family at her side, in her 90th year. Loved wife of the late Charlie, loved mother and mother-in-law of Janice and Brad Maxwell (Auckland), and Shirley Bishop. Daughter of the late Ken and Denise Hill (Dunsandel), adored Gran of Bradley and Shannon (Auckland), Hayden and Stacey; Delia and Tom (Wellington), Jordan and Loretta (Auckland), Great-Gran of Scarlett, and Lochie. Messages may be addressed to: The family of the late Iris Bishop, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. A celebration of Iris' life will be held in our Westpark Chapel, 467 Wairakei Road, Burnside, on Friday, October 4, at 10.00am, followed by a burial at Avonhead Memorial Cemetery at 12.00pm.

I always called Iris my Kiwi mum and while I haven´t seen her for years, I have such beautiful memories of her and Charlie opening their home to this stray Aussie. Incredible human and we are all privileged for knowing her and being in her orbit. She made a huge mark in this world with Charlie and has an amazing family as their legacy. Christine Shaw, Canberra
