Ian THOMAS Obituary
Passed away peacefully at Christchurch Hospital with family by his side. Dearly loved husband of Joyce for 60 years. Much loved father and father-in-law of Gaylene and Craig, Stephen and Robyn, David and Presilla. Loved Poppa of Luke, Zac, Hugh, Samuel and Emma. Heartfelt thanks to Dr Chris Leathart for your years of care. Messages may be sent c/- the Thomas family to 27 Amyes Road, Hornby, Christchurch 8042. No flowers, by request. Donations to St John Ambulance would be appreciated and may be made at the service. A private family cremation has been held. Ian's memorial service will be held at the Russley Golf Club, Memorial Avenue, on Friday, July 12 at 2.00pm.

Ian and Joyce were one set of my Rotary Exchange host parents about 30 years ago. I recall Ian's devotion to his family and Rotary, and how great of hosts the Thomas family was to me during my stay in New Zealand. Ian was always up for sharing a beverage and bowl of chips prior to dinner time :)
