Minty for many yeas was caretaker and groundsman at the Leeston Consolidated Primary School. When he retired, those roles were split and two people were employed to replace Minty. I was one of them; employed as groundsman. Minty had made my task very difficult! His standard of work was absolutely incredibly high. Minty had the respect of kids past and present at that school and in the whole community. He had a lovely, humorous personality. He gave of his best! Mal Griebel.

My sincere sympathy to you Helen, Nigel and Leanne and family for the sad loss of "Minty". Although I didn't know him that well he always friendly and acknowledged me with a wave, smile or a chat . He was an amazing man in all the things he did in and around the community and helpful to those who needed a hand with something especially gardening and lawn mowing jobs he liked doing. He will be sadly missed by you all and everyone who knew him in and around the community. You will have many special memories of his life to comfort you at this sad time .
