Sincere condolences Lyn. Would love to have been at the Thirsty Pig - the stories would have been larger than life, especially the 'boat race' at a services rugby tourney where the other teams did not reckon on Flange & his brother was a respected work colleague of Alan & was always great to catch up when in Picton.

Dear Lyn and Paul and families, wow the "Totara" has fallen. The fun days we had at the "KAIK" his local watering hole. He lived life to the max and more, but at the end of day if Gold Medals were going to be handed out, Lyn you were first in line. Long live his memories and there are a book full of them. Special Thoughts. Paulette and the late Stan Hazeldine (Mine Hosts)

Sincere condolences Lyn an family.
Have so many memories of our younger years.
The fun times we had in the sixties,Flange was always the leader, he had a nickname for everyone,I was either Staines or lil Hitler, not so flattering.Gone but never forgotten .

I shared an office on the 7th floor of a 13 story building situated on the southwest corner of the intersection of Cambridge Terrace and Hereford Street, Christchurch, with Flange nearly 50 years ago. Flange would often answer his phone saying "Moonlight Auto Services" after which which we would scour the auto suppliers in the city looking for parts before actually installing these parts in various vehicles. Occasionally we would do some work associated with our primary employer! Nonetheless, when official files accumulated on our desks, Flange would attack them extremely expeditiously and efficiently till they were all cleared. Flange and I maintained our friendship over the years despite our different locations.
He will be missed.
My condolences to Lynn and family.
