I was so sorry to read of Ians passing. I first meet Ian in 1957 when we both joined NAC as apprentices. I have good memories of our early days, Ian would often often visit our flat before going off to the Latimer Dance on a Friday night we also travelled to Wellington to watch the Lions play the ABs in 59, a great weekend that i still think of. I was looking forward to meeting up again in November at our apprentice reunion. My condolences to the Bateman family, RIP Ian.

We were saddened to hear of Ians passing and our thoughts are with you Trudie and Dave. Ian and I met at primary school approx. 74 years ago so it has been a long friendship. We always got on well and shared many fun times.Ian was a good bloke and I spoke to him just last week at his new location. He told me it was a hard move to make after so many years.Lynette and I were pleased to have Ian as Best Man at our Wedding in 1965.
We are sorry we are unable to join you to celebrate Ian's life.

Condolences to the Bateman Family. So sad to hear of Ian's passing or as he was affectionately known Knuckles. We were so looking forward to catching up at our Saturday morning coffee get together and hearing about his move to his new home.
I will personally miss our rugby talks and how we could fix our beloved All Blacks and Crusader problems but will cherish the memories of playing together for NAC and our trips away all those years ago. RIP my friend. Kevin McCrea.
