Our thoughts are with you all. We have great memories of Hugh , the stories, fun and spending time with him and the family. A very special person. We always remember the fake sky satellite Hugh put up, to prank the neighbours. And his stories of travelling on his BMW bike he rode through India. Also his knock knock jokes delivered from outside the house door! We are sorry for your loss and his passing. Love from Nick Hoddinott and Shane Kenneally

I was very sad at the news of the passing of Hugh.
I enjoyed many stays at No 16 Michael's Rd from the early 1970's Hugh and Jannet were always very generous, these were fun times for all us young kids.
Hugh widened my horizons and fascinated me with his stories of adventure and feats of courage in far off lands, these stories started in fact then fiction then to a joke and culminated in tremendous fun.
Hugh gave generosity of his time of which I will always be a greatful recipient.
I have enormous respect and love for dear Hugh.
He was indeed a unique human, which included a love of small and unusual cars.
I will always remember, and treasure Hugh saying "It's not fair Nor right". CCLB

Dear Aunty Janet and family, Sorry I cannot be with you but send my condolences to you all. The great Tane has fallen but we have many cherished memories. My first meeting of Uncle Hugh was on Sunday 6th Feb 1966 when he collected us newly weds from Victoria Station London. He was in his Hillman Imp and took us back to Wimbledon. His sense of humour will always be remembered, but no more will I hear.." Have yer heard this one"

Dear Janet & Family please accept our deepest sympathy on the passing away of Hugh. I can remember Hugh and his first visit to Suckling's Store Tai Tapu and his funny comments on mens shirts displayed in shop window.
I was glad that I had called to see you both on my last visit to the Old Home Town. Kindest regards Donald & Anne Suckling.
