Heather
December 23, 2025
I was just going through some old correspondence and found a letter of recommendation that Heather had written for me in 1982. At that time I worked for Heather and Ted at the Trentham motels after leaving high school. Hence, I then googled Heather`s name.
I´m sorry to see that Heather passed away last year. My condolences to her family and all who loved her.
Upon reflection, I still peg my towels out the same way that she showed me with three pegs. That is so they don´t scoop in the middle!
I also still make Heather´s wonderful buttery sultana cake. Heather would leave me baking the cake while her and Ted went out occasionally.

Heather will live in our hearts and memories forever. I am and always will be proud to call myself her stepdaughter. Moe mai ra e whaea. (The ending to my eulogy that emotion prevented me from saying). Lovely to catch up with everyone on Monday - Heather would have loved her funeral.
