I met Harry in the 1970s. I was a USAF C 141 pilot who flew Harry and Majorie from Honolulu to Christchurch. While on the flight I became acquainted with Harry. When I told him that I had also been a Marine in Viet Nam, his attitude about me changed completely. When we got to Christchurch he invited me to visit he and Marjorie at their home. While there I was invited into his “ Marine room”, which , according to Marjorie, was not common. Harry and I became fast friends, and every time I went through Christchurch I always visited with he and Marjorie. She and Harry were great people and they are missed, I’m sure.

Heartfelt condolences to the Oliver family on the loss of Harry, our neighbour and friend for over 38 years, one among the millions who helped shape the history of humanity during the worst armed conflicts of his time. Rest well Harry, always remembered. Our debt of gratitude is immense. Semper Fi.
