My lovely Leesa, I'm so very shocked, saddened & sorry to hear your darling Hamish has passed. By all accounts an amazing man, husband & father. Please know a little distance between us physically means very little if theirs anything I can do. I'm here for you whenever you feel ready & the want to reach out. Sending all my love to you & family.
I'm in hospital at the moment but I will try to contact you when home. I'll be guided by you as to how you're feeling, please let me know as I expect you're rather overwhelmed right now. I'm with you in spirit. Kia Kaha Grant Family. Go well Hamish xxxx

So sad to read about the accident and the tragic result. I had several occasions to meet with Hamish through legal work he was doing for us. He was always professional, helpful, and caring in his approach and I felt he really had my best interests in mind,a lovely man and one who didn't deserve his live to be cut short like this. Thank you Hamish RIP, my condolences to your Family.

Have known Hamish since Geroge Street normal School in Dunedin. Same class. Went to different Intermediate and High Schools until we reconnected up back at Otago University. Its not fair to go in a way where yoy have been advocating your own life towards promoting of cycling.
In my own work at Auckland Transport we too are asked to promote Vision Zero and promote Pedestrian and Cycling. This news comes as just plane tragic.
Hamish, I will remember riding to work every dat with you in summer holidays at Tahuna Motor Camp. Fly high.

Hamish, you were taken too soon. I will miss our rides and chats. Strangely our paths crossed before I knew you as a friend and I have a photo to prove it, from the Skins Grand Prix 2012, as usual I am suffering on your wheel. Rest in peace.

I'm not sure why such things cruelly happen to the finest people but Hamish you were an absolute gem of a friend, kind-hearted, genuine and generous. Your priorities were your family and everyone around you. I'll miss our before-work chats at the post office after your rounds collecting cafe food for the City Mission - on your bike of course! You were an amazing cyclist but always humble and encouraging to others. We were privileged to know you and we already miss you enormously.

Hamish, a friend and trusted advisor we hold in the highest regard, always there to help anyone in need. Thank you for all the memories; 5 passes, cycling in Europe, K2, and our weekends cycling around the Port Hills and Peninsula, a special person, an inspiration, we will never forget.
