THOMPSON, Gordon:
On October 25, 2017, passed away peacefully at Summerset Village, aged 81 years, after a long illness. Dearly loved husband of Gabrielle. Messages may be addressed to The Family of the late Gordon Thompson, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. A private cremation has been held.

You gave us opportunity, stability, generosity and love, but most of all you gave us a chance to be a family when it counted most. You never bought me a pony but you bought me my first car. You patiently taught me to drive, ferried me to netball and made sure you knew every single one of my friends by name. You taught me about planes, rugby, opera, how to smoke cigars, drink whiskey and never to settle for a man who can't cook.
