On April 1, 2021, in Devonport, aged 81 years. Husband of Ruth (nee Rickman); father of Fiona Ell and Sarah Ell; father-in-law of Ross Grant (deceased), John Clark and Rob Shaw. Grandfather of Angus and Laura Grant, Lachlan Grant, Florian Shaw and Natalie Shaw. Brother of Rod and Jeanette Ell (Hanmer), Kathryn Ell (Christchurch), Douglas (deceased) and Lynette Ell (Auckland). A memorial service for Gordon will be held at the Wakatere Boating Club, Old Lake Road, Narrow Neck Beach, Devonport, on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at 2.00pm. Messages may be addressed to the Ell family, c/- Rowley Funerals, 16 Anne Street, 0624 Auckland.

Ruth and Gordon Ell showed great kindness to me and my family when we were Takapuna Playcentre families. My husband David died in 2015. Heartfelt condolences to you.
