Kia ora
I was so sad to hear of Glynne's passing. I had known Glynne for many years as a colleague in EC teacher education. I was the monitor for the ECE programmes at the old Christchurch College of Education and the University of Canterbury for many years and always found Glynne to be warm, thoughtful and deeply committed to the student teachers and the children whom they would teach. She will have made an enormous impact on so many student teachers and on the children that they have gone on to teach.
My deepest condolences to all of Glynne's family.

Glynne was a generous and brilliant person who encouraged me to work further for peace with children when I received the ESD Award 2019.
I sincerely appreciate her works and I would like to express my deepest condolences to her family.

Glynne Mackey was an esteemed and well-known teacher and researcher within Early Childhood Education. Her friendly face and genuine commitment were for many years a recurrent presence at OMEP Conferences and meetings around the world. She also represented OMEP at many UNESCO conferences and workshops.
Glynne was an appreciated member of the OMEP ESD Leadership Group where we, among other tasks, organised the annual OMEP ESD Award competition. Glynne handled the communication with the applicants and had the joyful task to send out letters to the winners. She also organised seminars - at OMEP World Conferences or online - where the winners presented their ESD projects.
The last year, Glynne´s place at our table was empty, but she was present in spirit as we recalled and could lean on Glynne´s good ideas from previous meetings. This is a loss for OMEP locally, nationally, and globally. Our thoughts and sincere condolences go to Glynne´s husband, children, and grandchildren.

When we met Glynne at the various occasions celebrating Kat and Tom´s wedding, the depth of Glynne´s loving soul shone through. She has passed that beauty on to her daughters ... a wonderful legacy. May her love sustain you all now. Much love ... Paul and Mary and all our family `across the ditch´.
