Suddenly, on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Christchurch Public Hospital, Gilbert peacefully shuffled off this mortal coil. Dearly beloved husband of the late Beth. Much loved dad of Mary, Alison, Jill and Graeme, loved father-in-law of Peter and Jo. Caring grandad of Christel, Beth, Andrew, Steve, Leigh and Matt, and a loving great-grandad. At Gilbert's request a private family service has been held.
