We only knew Gil for a short time through the U3A Botany group. He was kind, inclusive and knowledgeable. He succeeded in his life of seeding a lovely family, being kind to others and making our planet greener and a better place to live. An inspiration to all. Rest in Peace.

Sincere sympathy to the family on Gil's loss - one also keenly felt in the fields of culture and environment. I first met Gil through as the reluctant villain Ruthven Murgatroyd, in a Secondary Schools production of Gilbert and Sullivan's Ruddigore, then in his retirement years through his participation as a volunteer educator for Victoria University botany students with the Friends of the Botanic Garden. A full and useful life, to be celebrated as well as mourned. Go well, Gil!
