Suddenly on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, while on holiday in Nelson. Dearly loved husband and friend of Adrienne, father and father-in-law of Andrew, Julia and Phil, and Emily and Pete. Fabulous Grandad of Grace, and Rose. Beloved son of the late Bob and Mary Henry. Much loved brother and brother-in-law of Judith, Des and Ruth, Delia and Clive, Gael, Carmel and Bob, Michael and Adele, Maria and John, Bernadette, Kath, Jos and Ian, Fraser and Wilma, Carron, Sara, Justin and Annette, and the late Jim, Kevin, Viv, Helen and Richard. Loved Uncle, Great-Uncle, friend, and mate to many. Messages to the Henry family C/- PO Box 111-01, Christchurch 8443. A Farewell Service for Gerard will be held in the Academy Funeral Services Chapel, 65 Main South Road, Upper Riccarton, on Thursday, January 11, at 2.00pm.

Extending my deepest condolences to the Henry family at this terribly sad time.
To think just a year ago I was lucky enough to be spending some fabulous days together with you at Vernon Terrace, memories I´ve held dear since then, and even more so now.
It was pure joy strolling down memory lane and recollecting the decades of friendship Andrew and I share, and how welcome I´ve always been made to feel at the family home. Never for a moment thinking that would be the last time we´d chat about the cricket, rugby, your exemplary veggie patch, the baffling nature of Australian Rules football amongst countless other topics.
I hope the lifetime of cherished memories help hold you up and bring you strength at this time.

With love and gratitude for knowing such a wonderful man.
