George HOBSON Obituary
On March 13, 2021 peacefully at home, aged 93 years. Dearly loved and devoted husband of Elspeth (Elma) for 68 years. Much loved and respected father and father-in-law of Heather and Noel Kirkwood (Auckland), Robert and Jenny Hobson (Hawkes Bay), Elspeth Hobson and Jonathan Macleod (Sydney), and Trevor and Andrea Hobson (Te Pirita). Special 'Grandad George' of Henry, Lucy, and Angus Kirkwood; Sarah, Ben, and William Hobson; Fergus, and Roderick Macleod; Thomas, Edward, Samuel, and Albert Hobson, and great-Grandad of Indi, Freya, Allie, and Jack Hobson, Isabel Hobson, and Eden Hobson. Loved brother of Olive Philpott, (Ashburton). Messages to the Hobson family, c/- P O Box 472, Ashburton 7740. Special thanks to the St John team and Rakaia 1st Response. A celebration of George's life will be held at the Rakaia Community Centre, Elizabeth Avenue, Rakaia, on Thursday, March 18, commencing at 11.00am, to be followed by interment at the Rakaia Cemetery.

Thinking of you all at this sad time and recalling with great fondness your hospitality and kindness to us in New Zealand (Anne 1973 and Malcolm 1989) when we stayed with you and George took us for wonderful trips.
