My condolences to the family. Devastating to you, but deeply saddening to many of us who've known Bill from Boys High days. I met Bill in 1960 as a fellow boarder at Adams House, CBHS when I was a 3rd former and he a 5th former. You always remember the kindly big fellas, and Bill was one of the best! I'll never forget his standing rendition of "In the mood" on the old hostel piano! Prior to leaving school, Bill courageously anchored a Boys High 1st 15 scrum following an appendix op that wasn't quite healed. He was a hell of a player! We've run into each other many times over the last 65 years, more frequently when Mel and Kate were in the same Girl's High netball team and we stood together on the sidelines at Hagley. I'll never forget him. RIP, Bill

Harrison, humble, humorous, handy and fun to work with. I had the great pleasure of working with Bill as coppers in my first job in the Police at Christchurch then my last job as drivers for Hassle Free Tours at Christchurch 53 years later. He never changed, loyal, dedicated, reliable and sincere.

A rugby player supreme, such a shame injury prevented him from wearing the Junior All Blacks jersey he was selected to wear.

Injury will prevent me attending your farewell Bill but I pass my deepest condolences on to your loved ones. A man you can all be very proud of. God speed and rest in peace old friend.

BGT.
