George Raymond (Ray):
On June 18, 2023, passed peacefully in his sleep, aged 92 years. Dearly loved husband and soulmate of Shirley (deceased), loved and respected father of Sally and Richard Smith, and Tony and Maree Butel, much loved grandad of 8 grandchildren and great-grandfather to Lydia. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Norma (deceased) and Bill, Lesley and Murray and their families. Special thanks to the staff at Anthony Wilding who cared for Ray over the past month. Messages may be addressed to the family of the late Ray Butel, c/- Hope Funerals Christchurch, 27 Amyes Road, Hornby, Christchurch 8042. A service to celebrate Ray's life will be held at Hope Chapel, 27 Amyes Road, Hornby, on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 1.30pm.

Sally, Tony and families, we at the farm will be watching the service and thinking of you all. Uncle Ray was such a caring and gentle man and now he will be with his beloved Shirley. Love to you all at this very difficult time

Sorry to hear of the passing of your lovely Dad, Tony & Sally. A wonderful kind & gentle man who was great to work with at OCEPB in Queenstown in the 80s -90s. Fond memories of him & Shirley growing up in Queenstown. Reunited with his darling Shirley
